    LookLock 2.0

    1. Make a macro name it Look 2. Put this in macro: /script if IsMouselooking() then MouselookStop() else MouselookStart(); end; 3. Put it on your spell bar (haveing addon like TrintyBars is very helpful) 4. Bind the key to the Macro 5. If you have addon hide the spell bar

    If you have TrinityBars right click the MiniMap button and drag the macro into one of the boxs that allow spells in the addon there is 2 types of boxs ull notice they look differnce you wont be able to drag it into the first set but u can the 2nd then once draged in put addon in key bind mode click macro and press to key to bind it to

    Does the same thing as this addon in 1 line

    Oh and the real addon still works for me jsut cant use esc key or it will give you that msg but other then that works fine

    Trimble Epic updated this in the form of MouseLook (as greyhound linked below).

    I loved this mod and now I love MouseLook. It's essential for me.

    I would be pleased if Mugendai will update this addon, but while wating you could use "MouseLook". It will work in WoW2.0 and you will find it here:

    Ok, this is definitely not working as of 2.0 patch.

  • Dec. 5, 2006, 11:07AM (1 year, 7 months ago)

    Will this work with the new 2.0 patch today?

  • March 29, 2006, 11:00PM (2 years, 4 months ago)

    does not work with 1.10. its blocked.

  • April 2, 2006, 09:12AM (2 years, 3 months ago)

    First of all: Great work for 1.10! THX

    But I still have a problem, while selecting target in LL mode. In v. 1.37 to 1.38 it was possible to select the target under the crosshaircurse easyly, as in v.1.4 this doesnt seem to work any more, cause the crosshair disapeers and the original hand curse will be reenabled (lock mode ends).

    Is this a bug or feature?

    Here is the used config:

    rm=1 st=0 sm=1 uc=1 el=1 al=0

  • April 2, 2006, 09:27AM (2 years, 3 months ago)

    And before wow 1.10 it was possible to interact with doubleclicking LMB, while in lock mode. Would this still be possible?

  • April 2, 2006, 09:30PM (2 years, 3 months ago)

    Right click and release while in lock mode should go ahead and select/attack your target. It's important that its a click though, and not a drag, so put the targeting cursor over your target and click and release. Same is true of the lmb, one left click should select the target.(if select mode is enabled)

    It's unfortunately no longer possible to call the needed functions to be able to provide the previous methods. Blizzard has blocked these functions.

    Blizzard is supposedly implementing their own autolook system in the next version, though I do not know what all features it will support.

  • April 4, 2006, 04:53AM (2 years, 3 months ago)

    For the left Mousebutton: If I play in lock mode with selectmode activated (it only works with active remapping), dragging the cursor over a target and provide a leftclick, I am selecting the target BUT unfortunately the lock mode ends right after the click. Is there a possibility to return in lock mode instantly after providing a LMB-press with actived selectmode?

    BTW: [quote]It's unfortunately no longer possible to call the needed functions to be able to provide the previous methods. Blizzard has blocked these functions./quote

    I think Blizz has no idea how much work is needed to build such an addon. If they are planing to implement an own autolook system, why are they blocking yours (and others) without giving an alternative? Any I asked myself, why Blizz dont implement one of the autolook systems available already. Oh well, I forgot..... they are nearly without any bug ^^ :D

    This is the addon I probably use THE MOST of all of them. I can not live without it. If I get on another machine it's the first thing where I'm like, "How come I can't turn on Look Lock".

    I just have it set up so that middle mouse is look lock, and then the other buttons work the same.

    When I'm running far, I hit auto run and Look Lock for easy steering. It's much less fatiguing over time. Plus I can zoom in to 1st person view, click Look Lock, and all of a sudden it controls exactly like and FPS. It's great for exploring.

    Thank you for this simple, yet beautiful addon.

    Cosmosui won't accept my email adress for registration so ...

    This would be a great addon if it wasn't for the fact that autorunning doesn't work properly in looklocked mode - if you turn the view too sharply, you stop running.

    I couldn't get the function to enter locked mode after holding down the right mouse button to work.

    Sorry it took so long to update, just that I've been working on a new more feature rich MCom, and the 1.9 updates were dependant apon it, and I didn't wanna release till I found it stable enough.

    Anyway, here is the official public release.

    As after patch 1.9 the target cursor wont fit with the original wow-cursor any more. Here is a little fix:

    search for:

    "local scale = LookLockCursor:GetScale();"

    comment it out, so it looks like:

    "--local scale = LookLockCursor:GetScale();"

    now COPY/Paste this line instead

    "local scale = UIParent:GetScale();"

    this should fix the problem. use this without the quotes ^^

    There is no option to return to lock mode after clicking the mouse, except to use Always Look mode, which makes it so it always stays in look mode, except when you right or left click, it will temporarily leave look mode, and when you release it will go back in. Always look mode also temporarliy disables when certain windows open, or if the mouse is in a bad spot. Also in Always Look mode, the normal look lock toggle can be used to toggle off always look mode, and then back.

    The reason Blizz too the functions away is an attempt to stop macroing, because if both the turn and camera functions are used together, it makes the character walk. And if either is pressed then released, it allows selection of a target. Blizz wanted to stop bots from being able to do this, so they disabled these options, in turn breaking this stuff.

    Basically you can thank addons that harvest mouse strokes to automate activities such as oh.. buffing.. for this one.

    Yah, I had actually implemented similar, so that if anything happened that would stick the mouse, the mouse would be freed by borrowing the code for always look mode. Unfortunately when blizzard broke that ability, it also made it impossible to free the mouse like that.

    I am considering working out some more prevention though, as much of it should be preventable by hooking large amounts of events such as the OnShow functions of many of the frames in the game. But there are still things that happen from an event that isn't trigged by a keypress or mouse function, that will allow stuff to popup over the mouse and eat it, and I couldn't do anything about it. I just wish blizz would give me back the ability to enter/leave look mode at anytime. *sigh*

    -Lock modes will now be canceled if you hit a button to open the main menu. This helps to guarantee that if some window pops up over your mouse, you can get the mouse back.

    thankkkkkkkkkkkk you.

    Ahh.. must have been a version I was playing with before 1.6! :)

    Now that it's been added, I'll play with it. If it let's me somehow look behind me and select a target (while running) It will accomplish one of my biggest peeves about the game.  ;) (this would make it so much easier than jumping, using the mouse to swing me around in mid air, trying to QUICKLY select a target, and using the mouse to swing me back around... all before landing. hehe It can be done, but it's tricky.. and sometimes I don't get my target.  ;) Thanks for the quick response, and the change as well... Can't wait to try it!

    I'de say what you are looking for is something to lock the camera view. I dont know any mods that do this. I could make LookLock so it has a binding for doing just that though. However what it would do, is make your mouse continously rotate the camera, without holding the left mouse button. So you couldn't use your mouse to turn your char while in this mode.

    During the beta LookLock could indeed be used to turn the camera to any angle you wanted and have it stick there, and allow you to control the game normally once doing this. Unfortunately, sometime later in beta, Blizzard added some 'features' that made this impossible.

    So far as I know, there is now no way to keep the camera focused to the rear without essentially keeping the left mouse button held down(which is essentially all that LookLock does when you use it's keybinding, keep whatever, mouse button held down.)

    This mode while, it wouldn't allow you to turn your character with the mouse, it would allow you to turn your camera without pushing any buttons, and would provide you with a useable targeting cursor that would stay in a fixed location on the screen, so to target something, you would have to rotate the camera so the target is over what you wanna act on. Then you can use LookLock's enchanced controls that will allow you to select your target, or right click it while in camera or look mode. However once you do this you will leave cmaera mode, and if you are walking, your view will immediately swing around to forward. LookLock used to be able to keep you in look mode, but, since Blizzard made changes in 1.6 to prevent botting, it is no longer possible to activate look/camera mode without the user pressing a key.
