  • About ComboSounds
  •

ComboSounds is a tool for rogues and druids. It plays sounds when combo-point generating moves and finishing moves are ready to be used. This thus removes the need to watch the combo point and hotkey displays and leaves players’ eyes free to watch other things.

ComboSounds uses the Ace2 framework with the optional Waterfall library.

Official documentation is at: http://www.wowace.com/wiki/ComboSounds

I would like to chancge the gain combo sound. And that is the problem there that there is only one combo sound for gaining a combo point. Because for that I would like to use more than one sound similar as you count the combo points for the skills. But I would do that instead of that one click sound.

Thanks for making it available. :)

  • Hope, I'm a confused about which sounds you want to change. There are two types of "combo sounds" that this mod plays: the combo "count", and combo "clicks". The "count" sounds ("s1.wav", etc) play when an ability is ready to use. The "clicks" play when you actually gain a combo point. So, its like this:

Hit mob with mangle -> gain a combo point -> hear a click. Gain enough energy to use mangle again -> hear the combo count.

The S0.wav, ect files are the "count" sounds. "click.wav" plays when you gain a combo point. (If you have the talent, "clicks.wav" plays when you gain 2 combo points.)

Does that clear it up at all? If you want to change the click sounds, there is no way to do that in the options but you can always just replace the files.

Still cannot change the built in combo sound. I disable all set settings I just want basic combo sound to play. BUT I copied my personal .wav files onto the default sound directory and set them up on custom sound area like:

c1.wav c2.wav etc. I also tried to set the custom sounds with <c1.wav> <c2.wav>

I hear only the built-in beep. Nothing else. Can I change the basic beep combo sound at all? Once again I dont want the set "config".

    Cheers for clarifying that.

  • Well, you don't need to have Ace2 installed, all necessary files are in this zip. And, again, the important distinction is that my mod plays sounds when abilities are -ready-, not after they've been used.

  • Well..if you set your sound set to "Custom" and you enter in invalid filenames for all of your custom sounds, you wil get pretty much exactly what you are looking for.

As for why the combo point gain sounds dont play sometimes: I'll check for bugs, but keep in mind that there is no guarantee the sound will be played. The engine can only play x many sounds at once, so if it is busy then you hear nothing.
