ATSW is a complete replacement for Blizzards tradeskill window with more overview and special functions.

This replacement (works for all tradeskills, now even enchanting!) provides you with:

- a better overview
The ATSW is bigger than the standard window, resulting in a much better overview over the thousands of items you can produce. Additionally, it lets you sort your recipes either by groups (as in the standard window), alphabetically or by difficulty. Alternatively, ATSW even lets you create your own groups and sort the recipes the way you like!
ATSW also has a filter function: enter something into the filter line and ATSW hides all recipes that don't contain the text you entered. But this filter function can do more: it's a powerful search function that can filter for minimum/maximum level requirements, producable item counts, item rarity (color) and reagents necessary. Check out the readme for details on using this function!

- more comfort
The ATSW has a production queue: you can queue several different items and have them all produced automatically by just clicking one button.
The ATSW is able to consider items you have to produce in order to use them as reagents in the production of other items. So: if you need item A to produce item B, you don't have to manually produce first item A, then item B. The ATSW does that for you: you just tell it to produce item B and it automatically queues the production of item A and - afterwards - item B. If you are missing some reagents to produce both items you get a message telling you exactly which reagents you need.
ATSW helps you telling your friends what reagents you need for a specific item: just click on a recipe with your shift-key pressed and the chat line opened and the reagent info will be added to the chat line.
ATSW shows you what reagents you need to process the whole production queue. It even tells you how many of each reagent you have in your bank, on alternative characters on the same server (in this case, it can even tell you on which characters) and which reagents are buyable from merchants. In case of buyable reagents ATSW can automatically buy all missing and available items from a merchant when you are speaking to him.

Please note that ATSW has grown to be quite a complex addon and it might still contain some bugs. Please tell me if you encounter one so I can fix them.

ATSW is localized in german, english and french language.

I've always loved the add on, still do. However, there are a few minor issues I have with it, I hereby post them in order of what I consider priority:

    - Custom Sorting: I've made some custom sortings in the past, every time when the database is updated for some reason, manual or forced after a patch, the custom sortings need to be re-done. It's a lot of work which I don't fancy doing every several weeks, I would very much appreciate it if a way can be found to not to have to do that every time.

    - Enchanting: no queue is available, I would love to have it. If not for doing enchants in queue, then to auto fetch items from the bank or have the shopping list at the auction house

    - Enchanting: For only displaying BC enchants, I fiddled around with ':minlevel 35' which doesn't work. Too bad though, since custom sorting (see above) gets screwed every now and then, so that's no solution to it either. It would be lovely if something like ':minlevel 35' would be made possible, or, as I actually realy would prefer, the option to 'delete' enchants to never see them again through ATSW, all the old (pre-twink) enchants are just clutter.

    - Enchanting: The infinite loop of creating Small/Large Prismatic Shards is gone now. However, the ability to make them is not taken in account at all anymore, neither is Void Shatter. It would be truly handy to have taken it in account again, without the loop. I'd suggest to do the calculation for this only on the static value of items in the inventory/bank.

    - First Aid: For some reason items needed for first aid do not show up in the reagents list of First Aid when going to the bank, just an empty reagents list is shown for First Aid.

    Thumbs up Slarti!

I love this addon, but also had memory issues and after the latest patch, when I opened the cooking screen, it would lock up.

Anyone interested in a replacement should look at Skillet, an ACE2 addon - the author gives full credit to ATSW and its author on the wiki page as he based Skillet on ATSW. Similar and expanded functionality to ATSW, with some new features added. Run it with CharacterInfoStorage to keep track of materials on all your alts.

Sorry to be leaving ATSW behind, as it is one of my favourite addons. However, I've had no lockups or memory issues since changing to Skillet. Thanks to Slarti for a great addon, and if it's updated to fix bugs and issues, then I'll probably move back.

@Everyone trying to sort/filter the lists:

Check the file named README.txt in the Interface/Addons/AdvancedTradeSkillsWindow folder as it lists a great deal of information about the filters that are present. To use the filters -- as opposed to a standard search -- you enter a colon : followed by the filter name.

To check only what you can craft on hand it's ":minpossible 1" and for craftable with mats given the options you selected in the Options tab it's ":minpossibletotal 1". You can also restrict the listing by level req's for the items, etc for crafting for Alts and so on.

This is obviously not the same as adding a simple checkbox for this same functionality. I'd rather see some of the outstanding bugs dealt with first but that's just me.

    Peace.

Bug spotted. Due to the new "interrupt when dismounting" thingy, when you start making something while mounted, dismounting not only interrupts what you were doing (surprise, surprise), but also inserts a blank "item" into the queue, above the item we intended to make.

This addon desperately needs an option that you can toggle to check your guild bank for appropriate ingredients.

First, let me say I LOVE this add-on. I am a tailor, alchemist, leatherworker, and enchanter (dif alts:)), and it is great to be able to queue recipes etc. so that I can easily get what I need from my alts! I wish there was a way to queue enchants so that I could pull what I need from the bank without having to switch out bank bags with carried bags:). Also, like the idea of being able to type in attributes or levels so that I can see what I can do for my alts and/or guildies. Any chance those ideas will be added?

Is there a way to limit the recipes shown in the trade window to those recipes that you have all of the non-vendor-purchasable ingredients for? The default trade skill UI has a checkbox to only show what recipes you have all of the ingredients for, but it isn't really helpful when you have all of the 'important' ingredients for a cooking recipe in your inventory and just need to buy some spices from a vendor; the default trade skill UI will hide the recipe anyway. This addon lets you know how many items you can make without needing to have the vendor-purchasable ingredients in your inventory but doesn't seem to allow the hiding of recipes based on this information.

Is there any hope for a fix for the obcene memory issues with ATSW?

every time u open a tradewindow it emidiately eats 1-2Mb of memory that it refuses to "give back".
After a evenings enchant/tailoring selling it can eat as much as 100Mb(!!!) of memory and cause obcene lags.

  • July 8, 2008, 01:42AM (2 weeks, 4 days ago)

That has to be an issue on your end :\ my ATSW has never gotten into the top three addons for memory usage.

  • June 3, 2008, 12:06AM (1 month, 3 weeks ago)

Great addon! Can you tell me where ATSW gets its info for "items on alts?" My ATSW is telling me I have 12 total Primal Shadows; 4 on my enchanter, and 8 "on alts." I only have the 4 on my enchanter. I have a couple different ways of indexing my stuffs, and they're all reading correctly except ATSW.

Is there a way to correct this, short of deleting, clearing .lua's and reloading it?

This is a great addon! My engineer would have had a hell of a time without it...
Thank you very much and keep it up please.

Small problem.....When i am looking to create an item, it considers the contents of my alt characters, unfortunately i have both factions, horde and alliance. The ATSW considers the materials on my alliance characters when i am playing horde, this really annoys me as i am looking to skill up and it is saying its possible, and it isnt.
Is there a way to turn this off, or perhaps stop it happening

  • May 29, 2008, 04:52PM (1 month, 4 weeks ago)

one problem i've had with mine is i've got enchanting on my hunter, and everytime i open the enchanting window it screws up my pet training window, meaning i have to log out and log back in if i want to train my pet..

other then that it works great, and really does make professions like engineering alot easier being able to queue up an item and have it auto-queue the things you have to make for it (ie casings and such)

  • May 27, 2008, 10:52PM (2 months ago)

    Suggestion:
If you have multiple items in queue and it can't "Process" the first item in the list it drops to the next item in list and attempts to process that one.

    Issue:
If the first item in the list can't be processed, you have to clear all these items before it reaches an item it can. This means you can't have a 'shopping list' in queue for when you visit the AH or your bank.

Any chance of making the mod say "333.#" to say how far you advanced towards 334 points in a development? Say you're at 333 now and you have to mine a lot of Fel Iron and make the Fel Iron Muskets because it's easier to gather and it doesn't advance for a while at yellow. Just thinking it would be cool to have an addition to the trade skill to count 333.# as in 333.2 4 6 8 9 334.

    What a great Mod!

I had a thought whilst being asked to make something for a guildie:

On the queue list next to the Delete icon you could add a Notes option to enter the name of the person who has place a request on you - this would act as a great build /request list. If possible it would look up your guild members and friends and auto complete too!

    Keep up the great work!

  • May 21, 2008, 09:44AM (2 months ago)

I have multiple characters at max lvl, It would be nice not to have to set up personal settings for each one of their trade skills. If you could make some sort of setting imports for this it would be nice. thanks. Really like the mod by the way, thanks for making it.

  • May 15, 2008, 11:48PM (2 months, 1 week ago)

Would be nice to have something that can be turned on/off that would show how much you have versus how much you need for reagents required for items in queue on your screen. Similar to the #/# display on quests that require items.

The only thing i would like to see done with this mod, is what blizzard recently did to their trade window. The capability to type in "Heal", "Agility", "Mana", etc and have all the items that provide you that stat be listed. I love this mod and i find i'm always turning it off and on now to find the items i need to make. Other than that. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
