Virus outbreak = false

Posted Sep 17, 2008 by Schwick

Hey,

Recent virus outbreak is false:

Recently a couple of virus-scanners have been reporting the following programs: - Backgrounddownloader - WoW patch executables

The listed programs are reported to have the following malware: - Trojan-PSW.Win32.WOW - R/PSW.WOW.RG.3 - Trojan horse PSW.Generic4.TUV

Don't be alarmed, it seems some virus-scanners have been falsely listing these files as malware. To resolve this check the link.

Yours sincerely, MVP Schwick (Europe)

    Using ActiveVirusShield here...
wasted liek 6 hours trying to find the source of this crap yesterday, ran a bunch of online scanning tool and snti-spyware tools...

Well, I'm happy it was a false positive, I won't have to reinstall my Windows and don't have to worry about my password.
