Guild Banks, Battlemasters, Titles, WotLK PvP

Posted Sep 17, 2008 by Teza

Tigole is providing us with noteworthy blue posts on 2.4, future guild bank improvements and WotLK.

Guild Banks: Guild master might be able to set prices for items (src)

We've been exploring ideas about letting guild masters set prices for items from the guild bank. We hope to get some cool guild bank improvements in over time.

Patch 2.4: Battlemasters and collision (src)

In 2.4, the Battlemasters are standing on platforms with collision around them.

We're also working on a better solution for Wrath of the Lich King.

WotLK: Plans to incorporate new titles (src)

We want titles to be meaningful in WoW and not commonplace. Our goal is to release more titles sparingly, so that the titles carry weight with other players. We do have a lot of plans for some new systems incoporating titles in Wrath of the Lich King. More information will be coming out on that soon.

Also, we feel like we have to be careful about rewarding people for behavior that might not be the best game experience. As much as everyone loves killing Murlocs, I feel like I have a moral and social responsibility not to encourage you to grind out 10,000 Murloc kills.

World PvP: Lake Wintergrasp and server wide buff (src)

Why can't you make it so that cities like Halaa (well, pick another one, not Halaa) give a server wide buff to players, if it is controlled by your faction?
That would provide an incentive for players to capture and hold it. For example, a 3% increase in damage while the city is held or something.
Just having zone specific buffs was a good start, but it needs to be more epic than that.

That's a cool idea. Maybe we'll do something like that with Lake Wintergrasp.

I personally believe that a server wide buff is a great idea. It would create much more incentive for PvP, not only to capture, but to actually hold as well.

know what else would be super helpful for guild banks? the ability to sort/search them. as much as i enjoy spending 10 minutes looking through every single slot for something, pushing a sort/filter/search button would totally make my day.

A great idea for a server buff would be a rep buff of course.

But in the future, for pvp buffs:

    -Battlegroup buffs?
    -Honor increasing buffs?

How about fixing the rankings in the guild banks so when a new person joins your guild and you don't change their rank, they don't have access of their old guild...

or... allowing you to compare the item in bank to what you have equipped... just like you can in AH.. There's nothing worse than rememberring or jotting down an item, closing it to view your character, then compare.. when you should be able to hold shift and compare.

Wowza1, there's an add-on you can use to help you do this. It was pretty useful before Blizzard ever added the ability to compare items.

It's called EquipCompare. It should be here on Curse.

server wide buff.. .lie it but why would a lvl 1 deserve a buff a lvl 70 got? that lvl 1 will become overpowered and wolfs will be crying out "nerf lvl 1s!" :(

Remember, it would be a scaling buff. ie. percentage, rather than a static value. So it wouldn't be that over powered.

I think he meant a continental buff ( Halaa - Outland and Lake Wintergrasp - Nothrend ) it makes better sense.

he speaks the truth. Say your lvl 1 hits a wolf with a stick for 8 dmg. 3% of that is, well, to be honoest nothing. a lvl 80 randomly hitting a mob for 800 white dmg, and you have 24 extra dmg. not alot, but you can see that it is definitely proportional.
