Regional Finals Update (Round 1, 2, and 3 Up)

News | June 2, 2007 (1 year, 2 months ago) | by Kody | Filed in World of Warcraft

The regionals are getting into high gear and we have an update for you on a couple WoW Arena matches that took place today. We'll also have some video of the first WC3 match as well as an interview with Team Pandemic from last night.

The first round of the finals is underway as I write this, with teams finishing up their games. As of this update I know of several things; I'll be working constantly to get the latest to you guys, so sit tight and we'll have all the info you want to know. And of course, as soon as video is available we'll have it up on Curse.

  • Pandemic defeated Hells Ham Basket 3-0 in their first round matchup, so Pandemic moves on and Hells Ham Basket drops to the losers bracket.
  • TFO defeated Eminence 3-0, so TFO moves on to face Pandemic in round two, while Eminence falls to the losers bracket to face Hells Ham Basket.
  • Flow Gaming defeated Conquered 3-0, so Flow Gaming moves on to the next round and Conquered falls to the losers bracket. when they had to postpone their matches for a bit to fix some technical issues.
  • PvE Clickers defeated Enervate 3-1, so PvE Clickers moves on to face Flow Gaming in round two, with Enervate falling to the losers bracket to face Conquered.

Round 2:

  • Power Trip / Pandemic fought against WLCDS in an epic series of fights resuling in a 3-2 score in Power Trip's favour. Pandemic started out butting their heads against the WLCDS wall and were quickly down 2-1, but somehow managed to come back and pull off the big W with "a strategy that should never have worked!"
  • The Huks emerged victorious 3-0 against PvE Clickers in a fight that did not appear to give them too much challenge. Their next opponent will be Team Pandemic.

Winner's Bracket Finals:

In the finals of the Winners Bracket, the fight was Flow Gaming(The HUKHUKS) -- vs -- Team Pandemic. The first two matches went fairly quickly in Flow Gaming's favor, but in the third match Pandemic changed up their strategy a bit, killing off Spinister - The HUKHUKS warrior - first, which forced a fourth match.

However, Flow Gaming came out with a vengeance in match four, and drilled Noktyn down to near death just seconds into the match - forcing Sck to use Blessing of Protection on him - opening up an opportunity for Flow to unload on the fragile mage - Ecilam. Ecilam died fast and things went south from there; Flow Gaming pulled out victorious in swift fashion and won the round - as well as a gauranteed trip to BlizzCon, 3-1.
